How to Whiten Your Teeth

Posted on: 22 January 2015

Yellow teeth are unattractive and can effect your overall mood or appearance. You smile less when you have yellow teeth and smiling has a direct impact on mood and general well being. A whiter smile will help improve self-esteem and increase your happiness. Here is a simple list of ways that you can whiten your teeth with simple products you can find at home or buy over-the-counter.

Lemon Juice Combined with Baking Soda

Take a couple teaspoons of baking soda and mix it with lemon juice until you form a homemade toothpaste. Brush your teeth with the lemon juice and baking soda paste and apply it directly into the most stained area of the tooth. The acids contained in the lemon juice will act as a form of bleach that, when mixed with the baking soda, will work to remove the stains on the teeth. Brushing with this on a regular basis will work to turn your teeth a couple shades whiter over time and give you a nice white smile.

Salt Mixed with Mashed Strawberries and Baking Soda

Take a couple strawberries and mash them up into a paste before adding a tiny pinch of salt and the baking soda. Mix it all together until you have a homemade toothpaste which you can use to scrub away the yellow stains in your teeth. The salt will act as a scrubber when the toothpaste is applied to the tooth, while the vitamins in the strawberry will work to remove the plague that has built up on the tooth. The baking soda will help to create a paste out of the other two items and help them gel together to allow for easier application to the tooth.

Brushing with Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is able to break down the bacteria on the inside of the mouth and dissolve plague. Coconut oil will also leave your breath smelling great, so it has a number of natural benefits for improving the overall hygiene on the inside of your mouth. If you can use coconut oil extract that will be the strongest and most effective oil that you can use to brush your teeth with and leave you teeth looking whiter.
